In a change from the typical weekly meeting, where the second half would see a presentation by either a guest or a WBG member, the group this week pooled it’s collective expertise and many decades of experience to explore a problem faced by Jenna Hunter of Hunter Law. Jenna’s issue is that her company needs to move office, and after searching for some time they have found a lovely unit near their current location. Unfortunately mobile reception there is very poor and there is currently no broadband.
IT Support specialist, Bob Morgan of IT Planning, stepped up to offer to check the location online to check both mobile and broadband plans for the unit, as well as mentioning the alternative options (microwave and starlink) and their benefits and issues.
Other options put forward were to work from home (problematic) and utilise serviced offices (which is both expensive and risks losing their preferred unit). By the end of the meeting, though, Jenna was happy that all possibilities had been explored and she was pursuing the best option for her at the moment.
