At a recent Wealden Business Group meeting, member Andy Peddle gave an insightful presentation on the critical role tailored safety systems play in protecting local properties. Founded in October 2015 and now based in Charing, ANP Security operates with a team of three dedicated engineers and an office manager. Andy highlighted their SSAIB accreditation, which guarantees insurance-approved standards, annual compliance checks, and integration with independent monitoring alongside direct police response capabilities.
Andy walked the group through the technical nuances between intruder and fire protection systems. While intruder alarms serve to detect rather than prevent—utilising wired, wireless, or hybrid setups with control panels, sounders, and mobile app notifications for door openings, movement, and tampering—fire systems are fundamentally designed around saving lives. He stressed that early detection through smoke, heat, multi-sensor, or beam detection in larger spaces provides vital time during an emergency. To ensure full compliance with safety regulations, ANP Security includes the creation of dedicated zone plans as part of their service, alongside bi-annual and annual maintenance schedules to keep systems fully operational.
