Caring Altogether on Romney Marsh (CARM) is WBG’s charity for 2023. They offer services to combat the loneliness felt by many of the older community across Romney Marsh and The Weald, including Befriending, Meeting Points and Reminiscence. This year they have also started running an allotment which is attended to by some of the people receiving CARM’s services, overseen by CARM volunteers. The allotment has proved very popular, particularly providing cut flowers to care homes and elsewhere.
CARM are currently in the process of applying to the National Lottery for funding, an annual process that involves much paperwork. As part of the funding application, they need to demonstrate the local need for their services. Victoria asked for our help in publicising a survey designed to assess this need.
