There’s enough pressure in business without adding to it with stressful networking meetings.
It’s the nature of some business networking groups to insist that members come to every meeting with sales leads and contacts for fellow members.
Which could explain why many people, particularly those running young or relatively small businesses, are turned off networking.
And is one of the reasons why Wealden Business Group adopts an entirely different networking model at their weekly Wednesday breakfast meetings.
WBG’s philosophy is that business networking……
- Should be enjoyable.
- Will not always yield sales leads – but stick with it, and you will receive referrals.
- Should be mutually supportive. Got a business problem? Chances are that one of our members will have the solution.
- Is informative – each week we have a guest speaker, and it could be you.
- Gives back to the community. WBG has raised more than £20,000 for local good causes in the last four years.
WBG’s unique policy among business networking groups of only admitting one member per profession means you will never experience conflicts of interest.
And WBG really works. Since January, more than 130 business referrals have been exchanged between the 28 members.
