Like many business concerns in Kent and further afield, Wealden Business Group has had no option but to suspend its activities while CV-19 sweeps through the land, devastating thriving SMEs that have been nurtured from scratch with hard graft, providing much valued products and services to the area.
The government is taking steps to help beleaguered businesses hang on to their work-force and prevent them losing their hard-fought enterprises. A £350-billion lifeline has been proffered, and this will probably turn out to be just the tip of the iceberg; in any case, it’s hard to see how this will ease the immediate and pressing cash-flow problems the crisis has provoked. Not to mention the anxiety so many of us feel as we look towards an uncertain future.
Though we may have suspended our activities – pausing our weekly networking meetings and planned awaydays – this does not mean that we are not around to support local businesses. On the contrary. Within WBG, there exists a plethora of expertise and experience in a wide range of businesses and professions. From IT and mortgages to law, finance and construction.
We want all our members, and the local business community at large, to know that we are on the other end of the phone and will be happy to offer what advice we can. If we can’t help directly, we may be able to point people in the right direction.
For over twenty years, WBG has excelled at bringing businesses together to help each other. Now that help is needed more than ever.
