At today’s breakfast meeting, Graham Card of Corporate Liquidity Partners took the opportunity to tell the group about an organisation with which he has had a long relationship – Pestalozzi International. They are a family of nonprofit organisations that offer child-centred education to disadvantaged children in the Global South.
Graham was introduced to Pestalozzi through his WBG membership, and was very impressed by the ethos of the charity, and the positive impact they were having on children looking for a way out of poverty through education. Through continued involvement, Graham was invited to be a trustee in 2009, a position he was proud to hold for 9 years. More recently Pestalozzi have undergone some restructuring, expanding their reach most recently into Thailand and Madagascar.
The relationships Graham forged with students over the years have endured, with him even being invited to one student’s wedding in Lusaka, Zambia!
