For this week’s breakfast meeting the group’s international finance expert, Graham Card, used his LinkedIn profile as a guide to taking the group through a potted history of his working life. A career that spans over 50 years, covering employment and running his own business, and has afforded him the opportunity to travel the world, which was one of his goals from the very beginning.
Some of the highlights of his career include….
- Driving the length of New Zealand’s north island to arrive unexpectedly in a customer’s office
- Being instrumental in the deal that brought Acer computers to the UK
- Having an interest in the provision of Dell laptop bags to UK customers
- Facilitating alcohol supplies to Tesco
- Bringing marmalade oranges to the UK from South Africa
Graham also extolled the benefits of networking in general, and being a member of WBG in particular, by revealing that one of his longest term clients came via an introduction from two then-members of the group.
