Joining the group this week was Sophie-Jane Taylor of Mrs Taylor’s Eco Clean. Sophie promotes an eco-friendly approach to household cleaning by providing a range of products that are designed to offer excellent cleaning abilities whilst also reducing or eliminating harmful waste.
There are some startling statistics around plastic bottle waste in the UK. 468m cleaning bottles are thrown away each year, forming a small proportion of the overall total of 7.7bn plastic bottles. Only 45% of these bottles are recycled at the moment, with the rest ending up in landfill or discarded in public spaces. The range of products offered by Sophie include a cleaning bottle made from recycled plastic which has been recovered from such public spaces.
In addition she can provide a full range of cleaning products, including refills for surface cleaners, laundry eggs, shampoo bars and a range of sponges. They are all available on her website, where you can even choose to plant a tree during the checkout process. Many products last for multiple uses, and end up costing far less than typical supermarket cleaning products.
