Tony Finch has had a long career in the army, with 48 years of military service. As such, he is very aware of the significant stress and pressure that can be inflicted on those who serve, particularly during tours of conflict zones. This often results in soldiers struggling to cope, with the incidence of PTSD in particular being ever-increasing.
Tony and his business partner Jay met whilst serving and, over time, developed their skills in resilience through mental health training, first aid training and physical training (a healthy body contributes to a healthy mind). When retirement from active service arrived the opportunity to build a business that utilised those skills was there, and now they offer training courses that build resilience strategies into companies of all sizes.
With 22 million work days lost to mental health issues each year, costing the economy about £1.3 billion, there is certainly a financial need for better support in addition to the personal need.
